A House in the Big Woods

Posted

Driving down that gravel drive, it’s hard to believe this little slice of heaven actually exists right here in the heart of Atlee.  As the sun peeped through those billowing oaks, it was very clear, I was entering quite an oasis.

Thoughts of summer camp, backpacking, and exploring my big woods growing up, all went through my head.  And boy to my surprise the scenery was just the tip of the ice berg.

Let me paint a picture, a fire pit in the center of the circular drive surrounded by cozy seating, a big swing to the right, and the camper parked near the shed to the left.  Either they were preparing for a great adventure or this family just knows how to “play”.

Activities were taking place everywhere I turned and my crew was just hoping I was going to say they could get out.

As I made my way to that fabulous front porch, I turned to take a quick glance back at the serenity.   How is it possible that shopping and restaurants were literally minutes away? How is it possible that I hear nothing around me but the pattering of feet, the scurrying of the wildlife and the harmonic sound of the kids playing.

What should I expect as I made my way through the front door? Well we all know less is more and this home defines that phrase.  With plenty of upgrades throughout including a completely renovated kitchen and flooring throughout, clean lines and simplicity truly expresses the character of this home.

Speaking of character, yes that is a climbing wall in the living room and don’t forget the monkey bars under the stairs, the additional climbing wall on the back porch, and a zip line in the back yard.

This five bedroom/3.5 bath home has a first floor master with an ensuite zen like bathroom and walk in closet, complete with your own deck access.  One additional bedroom down and three others up, make this unique layout perfect for family and friends.  While were at it, those friends could literally have their own guest quarters with a private entrance with a front porch.

While getting the tour, wandering the back deck/covered porch area, I also noticed the critters making their way to the back deck.  I was told the squirrels have their own stomping grounds and feeding nook, the other animals seem to think this community of humans is theirs for the taking.  They all know when it’s feeding time.

I can’t say enough amazing things about this property other than it’s an experience worth taking.  You will be in awe at the finishes, quality of work, and character this home has to offer.   Take a look at our video and make an appt today! #houseinthebigwoods #zipclimborswing
